Pantone Color of the Year 2022: Very Peri
I’m obsessed with color and every year I am excited to see what Pantone holds for me. With over 15,000 colors to choose from it’s always interesting to see what’s been chosen as Pantone’s Color of the Year!
If it’s a color I like, there’s a good chance I’ll be able to find any fashion item I could possibly want in that color that year. Think a bag, shoes, tops, headbands, nail colors- all in a shade I love.
On the flip side, I wasn’t feeling Pantone’s Color of the Year for the past two years. 2020: Classic Blue. 2021: Illuminating which is a shade of yellow & Ultimate Grey. 2 colors and both a no for me. The main reasons I wasn’t impressed by these past Pantone picks were that I wanted something more interesting & I don’t look particularly stunning in any of those 3 colors (she’s so vain!).
I am really excited about this year’s color though!
Without further ado, 2022’s Pantone Color of the Year is Very Peri!
What is Pantone?
Pantone is the world’s leading color consistency company. Every shade has a swatch/number/name that can be utilized to make sure that everyone is speaking the same “color language”. This is huge in fashion and design so the color matches no matter the company you’re using or medium (digital, print, fabric etc). It’s basically color standardization and expertise.
Color of the Year
Pantone has color experts who analyze trends and look around the world for inspiration. Their trend analysis can be influenced by/influence a wide variety of factors such as film, art, fashion, travel, design, technology, & sports.
Pantone has announced a Color of the Year for 23 years now!

Very Peri

Does Very Peri fit your color palette?
Very Peri has a newness that hopefully represents growth, change, innovation, and creativity in 2022. I find Very Peri to be a flattering and feminine color while still being electric. I know after the last 2 year’s I could do with something new and invigorating!
